... unlimited space unlimited bandwidth ...
We know perfectly well that no host can provide literally unlimited facilities, because that is economically ridiculous. A host may say "unlimited", but will still have secret limits after which the user will have his contract terminated. Otherwise there will be a small-print limit, like number of files, that will prevent users using too much space or bandwidth. I would much prefer to see honest figures that the host will stand by. If I see "unlimited", which I know must be just a sales blurb, then I can't know what else to rely on.

We can not or offer unlimited space or bandwidth as it wont exist.but we can offer unmetred /unmonitored space/transfer.

Sorry if I'm asking something simple, but what does that mean in real life? It isn't that I plan to use much at all for my sites in the foreseeable future. It is just the worry on a shared host that another user will be able to bring the system down. Perhaps it will be a case like veightar's, where an unknown bug eats resources. Or a student running a process too-clever-by-far.

Well our new paid server will be running on cloudlinux, a modified linux kernel made for shared hosting service. What it does is, it creates a custom virtual box for every account under same shared hosting platform and when ever some one wants to use extra resources it will only slow down the "someones" account, Instead of impacting all the accounts in one server. So lets say we get a blog on our server which gets around 500 unique hits a day, Now what cloud linix will do is it will force that site to use less resource, and make that certain site slow or low performance where all the other sites will be able have the top performance. It is like creating a sound blocking system between you and your roommate so when your roommate listen to loud music, you wont here a thing. About unmonitored service, It means we wont simply monitor your diskspace and bandwidth unless it cause a suspicious activity like if your sites uses 1gb bandwidth in less then 24 hour, then we will be manually monitoring your site as there is a higher chance that you might be abusing our server with rapid leech and so forth. Hope if I made myself clear.

That sounds worrying, that you think 500 unique hits a day are sizeable. My sites, added together, are getting towards 100 unique hits a day, and I still am only part finished. I thought that my traffic was peanuts!

It is just an example. Generally it is set to limit of 1000-1500. If some site gets more then that much views a day, then the person should really consider getting a vps or dedicated (hostcell is also going to offer vps and dedicated hosting)

Plus these are hit per site. Not per account.

My min. package: 150MB 1.5GB 3 addon domains 9 subdomains 3 x of everything else 3 posts pm + link back or small button you can place on sidebar (hosted by ...) paid plan 500MB 5GB 5+ addon domains 15+ subdomains $1 per month
i'll second this one, except maybe change 3 posts to 1 (but i'll be ok with it at 3).
Me too. This plan is better. And the minimum package is fine to go with for many.. with 3 posts per month. My min. package: 150MB 1.5GB 3 addon domains 9 subdomains 3 x of everything else 3 posts pm + link back or small button you can place on sidebar (hosted by ...)

Ooops! Apologies. No criticism of aditya29 was intended at all. The word "unlimited" gets used a lot all over the net. It is just that nobody knows what it really means, except that it does not literally mean unlimited.

Well the fact that unlimited exist because most of the site doesnt even use 10-20% of what they are allocated to. Thus leaving a lot of extra space.
