Think Twice About Using The Co.Cc Free Domain! Apparently, Google has removed all co.cc subdomains from its index. What does this mean for you? It means that your website will not rank if you are using a free co.cc domain. No one will be able to find your website through Google. If showing up in Google is important for you stay away from co.cc! Why did Google remove co.cc subdomains from their index? Simply put, there was too much spam on co.cc subdomains. What does this mean for free hosting companies? I think most sites should start recommending another free domain, cz.cc or tk. (and since people mainly use co.cc for spam purposes, maybe block it all together) What do you guys think about this? Read the full article here: http://www.dailyblog....rom-its-index/

Exactly! A lot of co.cc domains were used for spam, and Google removed them all, even the legitimate ones. (Shudder!) But a lot of spammers use free webhosting... will Google remove all sites at free webhosts, including HostCell, from its index sometime? The source article at DailyBlogTips does not quote the Google source announcement. We would certainly like to read the full Google text. Does anybody have a link?

I don't think that all free domains should be blocked. Everyone should have the free right to have their own website in the internet but of course for every freedom comes responsibility. It was .co.cc's fault because they were not regulating rigorously. The .tk has been very good at regulating. They were reported to have reduced spamming since 2008. That's why for anyone who's looking for a free domain, I think .tk is a great option.

Tk has the minimum hit requirement. Also they are not subdomain. That makes em safe

Perfect for undergournd forum. I wish i was still a part of those. Brings back good memory when me and my pal was using htaccess and various scripts to keep google off from our under ground forums.

I can't find any reason why anyone would hide from google other than the fact that google consumes so much bandwidth. Can you go to jail by doing something nasty in the internet?

when i'm not busy going to STUPID job training programs where they DONT train you at all (yes i'm miffed at this) basically all it is to do is hide the unemployment figures... so they bung people on these job training courses where you DONT get any training at all and promise of CSCS card, first Aid etc to then realise it's all BS and just to make the figures look good

If you hack into somebody's computer, or release malware that harms somebody's computer system, then in the UK you fall foul of the Computer Misuse Act 1990, which carries a penalty of up to five years imprisonment and/or an unlimited fine. I believe that other EU countries and the USA have similar legislation.
