Win7 on Ubuntu machine? From what I know, most people do the other way around (since Ubuntu has the fairly simple to use partitioner on install).
Could see what partitioning options the windows 7 installer gives you, and see if you can get it to repartition the hard drive without losing your Ubuntu. Otherwise, might want to look into a virtual machine solution (eg Virtualbox).

good luck :)

Echo->People dont usually do the opposite.
Why?
Windows is paid OS Linux distros are free. People try them on. Windows don't tend to provide free os. But you can run windows (FREE OR SO CALLED RESELLER edition} On a virtual environment but on a linux machine dual boot is kinda complected task

If you do that you may lose the ability to run Ubuntu.
Its been awhile, but if memory serves me, All Windows installations create a small hidden partition that will load First, and from there you can launch an OS, Windows, Ubuntu, etc.

So, if you have Ubuntu installed, and load Windows it may over write your hidden partition (if Ubuntu uses this method) or worse it will create one. In which case you won’t be able to get back into Ubuntu. Going the other way loading Windows and then Ubuntu should work without problems.

In any event do a Full Backup before you try just in-case. Let me know how it turns out.

Because of a set of strange circumstances I had to re-image my computer with the Factory shipped image.
Since I had a fresh install I decided to install Ubuntu.
I installed it using the Windows Install I downloaded from the Ubuntu site. Its installed on a 2nd HD and seems to be working great.
As I expected since I already had Windows installed Ubuntu was added to the Windows launcher as an option. That sends me to the Ubuntu launcher where there is only one OS and it loads from there.

I'm using the Ubuntu system now. I haven't tried to install any windows apps, but if you know how then you maybe able to get Win7 installed.

The boot process would just be the reverse first the ubuntu loader, then the win7 loader.
