I tried to go back and register another domain, but it didn't give me the discount on the 2nd try.
I'm going to try it from another pc and see if that works.
The first domain is setup and working.

I already have too many TLD's, mostly bought on unmissable special offers, and many a real nuisance when I either have to renew at full price, or let them lapse.

I have a couple of blogs on their Servers. I talked to Sales before signing up and was not convinced that anybody can offer "One Size Fits All" hosting.
But the two blogs are doing o.k.

Well would just say once you start to grow, they will throw you like a junk. Telling from really old experience. Had a test site ther couple of years ago, was getting 2k unique hits a day and the next week after signing up I got suspended for using 10 gig bandwidth. Talk about unlimited. Well that was only test site.

I'm sure I'll find out soon enough. To some the word "Unlimited" does not mean unlimited.

Why? Perhaps to avoid actions under the Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006. It could have been worse. Many firms unlawfully discriminate on the basis of age, sex, race or whatever. They nonetheless call people who they would never employ in for interview so that they will not be seen to have discriminated, thereby wasting the time and travel expenses of the unfortunate candidate.

yeah i realised it was about the "Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006" (forgot to add that i knew why). It just makes finding a freaking job so much harder!

You're right that does suck. A few years ago I worked for a company managing a dept in IT. Whenever I wanted to hire someone for a position I had to "Post" that opening. Even when I was going to hire someone from within that dept and knew who I was going to move into that position. And, more the Legal dept had to sign off on the wording of that Posting.

ANYHOW... back to topic and sorry for de-railing it
Yeah, shame on you, and I started this topic and got off track.
Anyhow, I found some Domain Names that were available and had big number of searches in Google Adwords. So, owning those domains should get lots of eye's on whatever you put on that domain. Or, that is my thinking, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money buying domains so I looked for really cheap domain registrations.
I was able to register "onlineauctionslikeebay.com" yesterday for $2.95 from Network Solutions.

Well, I will really think thice about buying a domain name from them. I just tried to register a domain name there and it was $35 per year. Now come to think about it, if they charge you that price for renew, that will make $37 for two years. Not good for me

So when is SeriesN going to offer domain names at $2? I might just have to buy one.

I haven't been able to purchase another domain from register.com for $2.00. Whenever I go back it tries to charge me the full price. I also purchased another domain from Network Solutions for $2.95 but today they refunded my purchase. Their email said the purchase could not be completed with the information I supplied.
It is a case of Bait and Switch. I checked Paypal and the purchase was completed. So, I called Network Solutions and spoke to one of their reps. All he could tell me was that the payment could not be completed, and I told him that was not correct my paypal account shows the payment was completed on 2/23. He said the domain name was still available, and I could purchase it again from their website. I asked him to complete the order now on the phone and he said he could. When we got to the payment part he wanted to charge me $34 for the domain. I asked him why they were advertising domain registration for $2.95 and now charging me $34. His answer was that I would need a coupon to get the $2.95 price.
I think Network Solution just wanted people to start the registration process thinking they would add on options to drive up the price, but if you don't then they won't honor their advertised price of $2.95
I haven't had that problem with Register.com (not yet anyway).

Unless my uncle wants to get icann certification ( which costs pretty good money, resource and time) I do not see this option coming to life unless we decide to add up products with a cheap/free domain offer ( which is available)
